Ammed Solomon - Drums & Percussion
Ammed is originally from the Cincinnati, Ohio area where he began his music career in, as he likes to say "Holiday Inn Bands". He moved to the Charleston area in the 70's and has been a part of the music scene ever since. Formerly playing in The Pickers and Rhino Moon with fellow Soul Doctor Steve Hill , Ammed has kept the beat and moved the feet of thousands. He is currently the house drummer for the nationally syndicated Mountain Stage band and also performs with The Vodoo Katz. The Beatles, John Hyatt, drummer Jim Keltner, Prince, Motown music in general, and "Anything Funky" have all shaped Ammed's playing. "Making music with friends in The Soul Doctors, is easy, because we're dedicated, professional and the people always dance!"

Steve Hill - Bass & Vocals
Steve is originally from Opelika, Alabama, where he began his music career with fraternity house favorites, The Penetrations. Steve also moved to the Charleston area in the 70's, and never left. Having played with The Pickers, and Rhino Moon with Doctor Ammed, he's a very well known fixture of the area music scene. He currently plays bass in The Mountain stage band, and performs with the fabulous Julie Adams. Steve lists his musical influences as James Brown, Percy Sledge, Steven Stills, Ry Cooder and Fela, among others. "I love playing the classic cover tunes with The Soul Doctors and watching people dance, because it's what I've always loved to do, and the set list is the same as my high school and college days."

Tim Coll - Lead Guitar & Vocals
Tim was born and raised in the Charleston, West Virginia area. For most of his adult life he has performed with area bands, such as The Del Rays, Spyce, and Big Planet Soul . As a public school teacher for 32 years he influenced a lot of young people and impressed them with his soulful chops. He came to the Doctors from the Capial High School Glee Club and plays a red hot guitar. Doctor Coll lists B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and Jimmy Hendrix as a few of his guitar heroes. "The Soul Doctors give me a chance to play music with great friends and musicians, and the opportunity to learn something new each time we perform."

Doug Payne - Keyboards, Sax, EWI & Vocals
Doug is also born and raised in the Charleston, area and has been the hottest sax player in the region for many years. He has performed with The Mountain Stage band many times, and also is a member of The Bob Thompson Unit, a popular area jazz group. He is also "the younger and better looking brother "of lead vocalist Steve Payne. Having performed in the past with Streetwise, Fat Chance, and Big Planet Soul Doug has awed audiences for years with his virtuosity on sax. Doug lists Michael Brecker, David Sanborn, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, and Buddy Miles as strong musical influences. "Getting to play great music with great friends and family, for appreciative audiences, is hard to find in this business. The Soul Doctors give me all that and a lot more."

Steve Payne - Lead Vocals & Tambourine
Steve is from the Charleston area as well and began his musical career in the church choir singing solos from the age of 10. Music was always a passion, as well as the visual arts and he is also well known for his "Simply Beautiful Photography". Growing up listening to classic soul, jazz and rythymn and blues, he has never gotten it out of his system and appreciates the opportunity to bring this music that he loves so much to the public. He lists Elvis Presely, James Brown, The Beatles, Buddy Miles, Tower of Power, Tony Bennett, Van Morrison and Delbert McClinton as a few of his musical influences. He has performed in the past with Fat Chance and was a founding member of Big Planet Soul. "Playing in The Soul Doctors is a dream come true for me. Being able to perform with my brother is a big part of that, but this whole band is like family. The fact that the music we make is so good... icing on the cake."
